Sarah and I, along with her mom and Ann and Rich went to Longwood Gardens (click on title for link) yesterday evening for a concert by the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. They played several well-known pieces (like Night on Bald Mountain, The Waltz from Sleeing Beauty, and several others) and 1 or two that I did not recognize. It was a bit hot (and a lot humid), but very nice to be able to see the symphony outside, with the beautiful landscapes all around. The birds were chirping too throughout much of the performance, which added a nice touch. At the end of the performance they played Star and Stripes Forever, acompanied by a very impressive water fountain display in the background. Once that was over, they had a short but nice fireworks display. It was a very nice evening.
I wish that place was a little closer to us so that we could go more often. As it is, it is just far enough that we don't think about it, and it is just too much with gas prices.
Before the performance we walked around one of the green houses. I took a few pictures (below). I don't think they are very good - I really need to take a class.
I need a polarizing lens.

It sounds like a fun time. We've only been to Longwood Gardens in the winter...it must be nice in the summer...even nicer when the symphony is playing. We hope everyone is doing well! We miss you!
