Jackson's Birthday Party

Sunday, July 26, 2009

We had Jackson's birthday 1 weekend early so that Sarah's mom could be there. We had it under a pavilion at a nice park near our house. I was afraid it would be terribly hot, but it was nice and windy. We had veggies, chips and salsa, watermelon, and red-cooked chicken wings - an old family recipe. Jackson LOVES watermelon.

Of course we had cake too. Sarah made this awesome cake - a dinosaur scene. The pictures don't do it justice - there were 3 kinds of cake dinos, cake mountains, blue-icing rivers and lake, with cookie sandy beaches, gummy shrubs, and Twix trees and jellybean dino eggs. It was awesome. I wish the pictures came out better.

I'm only going to post a couple of pictures since all of them are on the slide show at the top of the column on the right. I know they are small, so if you want to see them bigger, just click on it. There's a great progression from a little bit of icing on his face to nearly unrecognizable.

Sarah's aunt and uncle came, as well as her cousins, mom and nephews who were here visiting, her friends from work, former neighbors, and one of my friends with her baby. It was fun, but I had the most fun watching Jackson eat his cake - his 1st cake ever.

After most people left we put him in the swing. He loves to swing!
