Oh yeah, we're also counting down to the World Championship Punkin Chunkin contest in rural Delaware. If you've never heard of this, go to the link here. http://www.punkinchunkin.com/It is AWESOME. People compete in 3 different categories on how far they can launch a pumpkin. There is the air cannon division (some of these have 30" barrels, sounds like cannons when they shoot, and will shoot a pumpkin ~3/4 of a mile), the catapult, and the human powered launchers. It is a blast - true Americana. It's the closest thing to a real tailgate party I've seen since we moved up here. They even have a mechanical bull booth - just ask Sarah and Jeanette.
Here is a video I found on the internet. Some guy actually launched a camera out of his air-cannon punkin chunkers. Pretty freakin cool.
